2012 in images.

Just as I have started this blog and only done one shoot since the start of 2013, I thought I would share what I accomplished in 2012 - as I think it was a pretty good year. Below are some of the highlights:

I shot with Hellkat for Dark Secrets Latex which was my first latex shoot. We managed to shoot in a cute little sweetshop in Chester, followed by the remains of the funfair in Rhyl, and I think we did the bows justice!

I did have some bad shoot experiences as well but luckily the pictures turned out well. I treat these as a lurning curve, but I had wanted to do this shoot for ages.

I also did some gore/fantasy shoots! Which is great for me as I like the wierd and wonderful!

I shot with Hellkat again for Opium Latex - a stunning red dress! I then went on to purchase my own from this lovely - some self portraits will come at some point!

2012 was also the year I met Echo Le Screem and created some stunning images. My friend also got involved modelling for The Red Queen Boutique and created some stunning ballet-ish images.

And then Hellkat, Echo Le Screem and Coco Fierce did a shoot for a latex company.

I also worked with SamPhire who I have worked with on a few occasions, again - amazing results!

Storm in a D cup also approached me to do underwear shoots, with an evil twist - so I got to work with a plethora of sexy underwear clad ladies inlcuding Hellkat, Cat Sleigh and Natalie Pallatina

I also met BeccaLou and had several amazing shoots (and more planned for 2013)

Then, my final shoot of 2012 was with Samii Bliss for Nightmare Jewellery (a good friend of mine) and IVX Latex Couture. Really pleased with this set!

So!
That was a brief highlight of the pictures I have taken in 2012, onwards and upwards for 2013!

I'm just here to take the pictures

I've been taking pictures for quite some time now and have worked with a variety of models, some of which I do now consider friends but it's getting quite common for models to tell me their insecurities, before we've even met (most of the time). I like to see myself as approachable and friendly but I never know what to say when a model who's booked me just says outright "I'm too fat", "I hate myself" or words to that effect.

I get that everyone has their hangups but you'd think that people must like themselves, even if it's just a little bit, if they're publicly broadcasting photos of themselves (I know people who keep their photos private but like the shoot experience). Maybe I'm missing something?

I just feel like an agony aunt sometimes.  I'm a firm believer that size is just a number and I find the term 'skinny' just as offensive as fat if I'm honest.  But I'm thinking that if a person has so many negative thoughts about themselves, should they be shooting? Or should they be seeking some help for their issues? Or (and I hope not) are they just fishing for compliments, off someone they have never met?

Either way I am just here to take the pictures. Though it is nice to get to know someone and learn about their style and what works for them, a whole barrage of questions and comments about their hangups just isn't appealing, and makes me worry about the upcoming shoot (as in, if they can go through with it and will it affect the resulting images? ).

Quick introduction

Hey I'm a hobbyist photographer and have started this blog to talk about photo shoots, works in progress and a bit of behind the scenes.

I'm also a full time student so I use photography as a creative outlet.  Though it's hard sometimes to keep up with editing photos especially around exam time.

To begin with here's a work in progress of a 'nightmare' concept.  Only just started this. Ignore the rubbish quality phone pictures of my laptop.
